Francisco Jose Lombardi is perhaps the most prolific native Peruvian film maker. He was born August 3, 1949 in Tacna, Peru. His films often portray Peruvian literature based on real occurences. Usually these films portray young people against the harsh realities of the World, and an idealistic "man" or boss. Lombardi was a member of the jury or judging panel of the 2005 Mar Del Plata international film festival. Lombardi's prolific film career has earned him 23 wins and 13 nominations in film festivals across the world. His work has represented the nation of Peru, perhaps better than any other director from the country. His films include: Mariposa Negra, Ojos que no Ven, Tinta Roja, No se lo Digas a Nadie, and sin compasion.
